Quartz in Mica and Hematite is a wonderful mineral which consists of a crystal of the colourless and transparent mineral quartz within the opaque minerals mica and hematite.

Hematite is a black to red form of the compound iron oxide, while mica is a group of minerals which can take a number of colours.
