Rubies are remarkable gemstones, being a pink form of corundum and so tied as the third strongest minerals on Earth.

This mineral also shows truly breathtaking colourations under ultraviolet light, with the rubies fluorescing a more vibrant pink, while the feldspar shows a jaw-dropping blue colouration.
