These Curled up Trilobites are the amazing fossils of little woolouce like Arthropods known as Trilobites which curled up into a ball before death.
The name trilobite means "three lobes", as a reference to the three main sections which make up their bodies. They were a hugely successful group of invertebrates which existed between about 520 and 250 million years ago.
The curling behaviour shown in these fossils was likely used as a defence from predators, making these a fascinating insight into the lives of these long extinct animals
