This faden quartz cathedral is a beautiful translucent, cathedral shaped piece of the colourless mineral quartz with white threads running through it.

The thread or string like structures of faden quartz are caused by gas becoming trapped in the centre of the crystal while forming, as it breaks off and re-attaches.
