Pink Topaz in Rock

This Pink Topaz is a lovely rough, transparent and pale pink piece of the gemstone known as topaz within a largely largely colourless, opaque rock. This topaz fluoresces a more vivid pink colour under ultraviolet light.

The pink colour of this topaz is a result of the presence of chromium within it.

Topaz is the hardest naturally occuring silicate mineral.
