Smokey Quartz Facet

This smokey quartz facet is a beautiful piece of the grey, translucent variety of quartz known as smokey quartz. This quartz has been polished to show numerous flat faces, a process known as faceting.

The smokey appearence of this quartz is due to the formation of trapped silicon from the silicon dioxide which makes up the quartz itself.

This crystal would make an excellent gift.
