Smokey Quartz with Bubble Inclusion

This Smoky Quartz is a rough, grey, translucent form of the crystalline mineral known as quartz, with a small bubble in it.

The bubble inclusion in this mineral is a bubble of gas which became trapped in the quartz when it formed. The majority of quartz crystals form out of magma.

The grey colour of this mineral is a result of some of the silicon in the silicon dioxide making up the quartz becoming freed.
