Vesuvianite

Vesuvianite is a colourful, transparent silicate mineral which is either brown, green, yellow or blue. It is frequently cut into gemstones.

Vesuvianite was originally found near lava which orignated from Mount Vesiuvius. This is what gave rise to its name.
